What the site needed to do
Share conservation news quickly, and turn lake lovers into newsletter subscribers, volunteers and supporters.
What the site includes
- A clear mission headline ("Connected by water. Protected by community.") over real photos of the watershed.
- A latest-news section with field photos, so new discoveries reach the community fast.
- A friendly otter mascot asking "Do you want to be my friend?" next to a bold "Join the Friends" panel.
- Newsletter and supporter sign-ups repeated where visitors are most engaged.
- Contact details and office hours in the footer, with a site search.
- An easy editing setup so volunteers can post updates themselves.
